Located picturesquely atop a hill commanding a panoramic view of fields and valleys in Virajpet town, the Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences was set up in September 1999.
It is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and approved by the Dental Council of India, the Government of Karnataka and the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The systematic method followed at CIDS has enabled our students to achieve consistently excellent academic performance. Our pass percentage ranges between an enviable 92 and 98 per cent, which is the highest among the colleges in the State.
Strengthening our resolve to have a small batch of only 40 students, the first batch did us proud by securing the highest pass percentage and first classes in Karnataka State in their first year examinations. Our students also
scored a 10 per cent of the total distinctions in the examination.
CIDS campus is spread over 20 acres and hosts a variety of trees and flowering shrubs. Its landscaped gardens add to the tranquility of the campus. The campus boasts of a number of picnic spots, a waterfall, and a meandering stream where the students may spend their Sundays if they wish.
